Is this the showdown of the year? In the smartphone world, we would argue that it is. If you're looking for arguably the world's best 3G smartphones right now, you're likely considering two specific choices: Apple's iPhone 4 on AT&T, or HTC's DROID Incredible on Verizon Wireless. Both phones provide an excellent user experience, and both are as cutting edge as they come. Both they also offer very different and distinct experiences, with one coming by way of iOS 4 and the other Android 2.1 with HTC's Sense overlay. In other words, both of these devices are competing for the same crown, but each one is its own beast, with its own list of pros and cons. If you're in the market to upgrade your... Read more...

The iPhone 4 was officially revealed at WWDC in early June, but the world knew about the device long before that. In an extremely unusual slip for Apple, the next generation iPhone was found in a California bar a few weeks before its official announcement, giving the tech world an up close look at the hardware well before Apple intended. But you couldn't tell much by looking at the hardware alone; it was a little thinner, a bit different in terms of construction and had a front-facing camera. But without a working operating system, not much else could be gleaned. Now, however, there are no more secrets and we've got a full review of the iPhone 4, complete with video, available here... It was this month last year that Apple launched the iPhone 3GS. Records were broken in terms of sales, and overall demand looked like it couldn't possibly be higher. It was Apple's third iPhone, and the 3GS was arguably the least impressive upgrade to date. The iPhone 3G was a drastic improvement over the original iPhone; it added 3G support, a better camera, a whole new design and support for multi-media messaging. The 3GS, however, was just a mild improvement. Support for video recording was added, and a new processor was included for improved speed and graphical performance. It was a solid upgrade, sure, but it was one that many iPhone 3G owners skipped over in order to prevent the extension... Read more...
Well, it's June 7, and that means WWDC has started in California. And that also means that the rumors were true: a new iPhone has entered the world. Steve Jobs got on stage today to kick the event off in style, and while he took a few minutes to talk market share numbers (obviously looking at areas where the iPhone OS has sold more than Android), the real news arrived shortly. The next generation iPhone is real, and the images that were leaked weeks back were also spot-on. The name, however, is curious: It's the iPhone 4. Just iPhone 4. Not 4G, not HD, just 4. That's pretty plain, we must confess, but we guess it will suffice. The new iPhone 4 is said to be the slimmest smartphone on the planet,... Read more...
Wow, what a week it has been for Apple. Last Saturday, the company's first tablet launched and sold over 300,000 units on the first day. On Monday, they announced that iPhone OS 4.0 would be explained in detail later in the week. And now, those details are live, and they're substantial to say the least. Apple's CEO Steve Jobs took the stage in California in order to lay out the next generation of the company's iPhone operating system, going on and on about seven "tentpoles" that would boost up a seriously overhauled system. The keynote began with Jobs boasting about the iPad's success; as of today, another 150,000 have been sold, with many Best Buy's out of stock completely. Jobs said that Apple... Read more...
