Diskeeper installed Jerry Baldwin (pictured below) as CEO just a few months ago in September 2011, and he’s wasted little time getting down to business. Baldwin is setting a course for change for the 31-year-old defragging company, starting with a name change and a new direction. The company formerly known as Diskeeper Corporation will henceforth be Condusiv Technologies. In a blog post announcing the change and Condusiv’s “highly focused” strategy, Baldwin didn’t get into specifics. When was the last time you defragged your hard drive? Me neither. Diskeeper Corporation has included automated defragmentation functionality in its latest version of its system maintenance software: Diskeeper 2007. The technology, dubbed InvisiTasking, allows system maintenance to run invisibly in the background, and draws on unused system resources in order to perform defragmentation without affecting network performance.
