Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'Master Trials' DLC Now Unlocked On Nintendo Switch And Wii U
Are you itching to explore more of Hyrule? The Master Trials DLC pack, the first expansion for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is now available for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
The Master Trials DLC pack includes a harder difficulty mode, in which games can be saved in their own separate slots. There are new, harder enemies in this mode and players will be able to find enemies and chests in mid-air. Players will also be able to trace their route through Hyrule with a new tracking system and temporarily create quick-travel spots with the new Travel Medallion. No DLC would be complete without some new swag. Players will be able choose from various new apparel such as the Tingle Outfit and Phantom Armor.
The DLC will also contain the brand new Trial of the Sword. Players will begin the 45-room challenge with no armor or weapons. They will only be able to fight with equipment found throughout the challenge as they face opponents of ever-increasing difficulty. If the player completes the challenge, they will receive the fully powered-up Master Sword.
Players will only be able to purchase the DLC if they have the $20 Expansion Pass. The DLC will eat up 456 MB of space on the Nintendo Switch and 3.7 GB for the Wii U. Physical copies of Breath of the Wild already require 3GB for installation, while the digital version consumes 13 GB. The digital copy of Breath of the Wild for the Switch requires 13.4 GB.
Master Trials is the first of two DLC’s planned for Breath of the Wild. The second DLC, The Champion’s Ballad, will be available some time during the upcoming holiday season. Nintendo hinted at E3 2017 that the next DLC will focus on Link’s experiences with Hyrule’s other champions- Urbosa, Mipha, Daruk, and Revali.

One of the chests includes a t-shirt for Link that features a Nintendo Switch. According to series producer Eiji Aonuma, “Since this incarnation of Hyrule is so huge, it is our hope that everyone who plays will have a wide variety of fun experiences as they explore.
