Xplore Technologies Reveals Rugged 10.4" iX104C5 Tablet

Tablets are starting to become one big blur. If you've seen one, you have almost seen them all. The iPad and Galaxy Tab have managed to create a niche for themselves, but otherwise, a tablet is starting to become "just another tablet." But even as the line starts to go mainstream and become more of a commodity, Xplore Technologies is maintaining that edge of differentiation. The company has just revealed the new iX104C5, believed to be the industry’s most powerful, rugged, and sunlight-readable PCs ever developed.

It's obviously built for those using machines in the field, those who need a rugged piece of equipment to withstand extreme environments. This new model has a 10.1-inch XGA display, tons of armor around the edges, a 2.13GHz Intel Core i7 620UE CPU, 2GB of RAM, Windows 7, an SSD drive (optional), Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and a Gobi 2000 mobile broadband module.

There's even a 10-cell battery that'll keep it going long after you leave the power shed. No pricing information is given, but we're guessing it won't be cheap.
