Woz Is Out Of The Loop At Apple

Regular readers here at HotHardware know I'm a big fan of Steve "Woz" Wozniak.  And it's not just because of his historical importance to desktop computing, but due to his obvious intelligence, demeanor, and general good nature. Well, the game at Gizmodo has just posted the final installment of their video interview with Woz and in it he reveals something interesting about his interest in upcoming products at Apple.  (And just in case you're wondering, yes, that is a picture from the front bezel of my "Woz" signed Limited Edition Apple IIgs that still works perfectly.  Sword of Sodan anyone?)
"In the final installment of our interview with Apple co-founder/inventor of the personal computer Steve Wozniak, he lets us know some details of his "outsider" status at Apple and why he likes it that way. Does he have all the inside scoops before anyone else? Nope. Does he get the first prototypes of each new product? Nope. But that's just the way he wants it. Woz is a man of the people."
While you're there, be sure to check out the first few installments of Woz's video interview as well.  Even when he's not talking about anything particularly juicy, you can tell this guy's wheels are turning just a tad faster than most other folks.

Marco Chiappetta

Marco's interest in computing and technology dates all the way back to his early childhood. Even before being exposed to the Commodore P.E.T. and later the Commodore 64 in the early ‘80s, he was interested in electricity and electronics, and he still has the modded AFX cars and shop-worn soldering irons to prove it. Once he got his hands on his own Commodore 64, however, computing became Marco's passion. Throughout his academic and professional lives, Marco has worked with virtually every major platform from the TRS-80 and Amiga, to today's high end, multi-core servers. Over the years, he has worked in many fields related to technology and computing, including system design, assembly and sales, professional quality assurance testing, and technical writing. In addition to being the Managing Editor here at HotHardware for close to 15 years, Marco is also a freelance writer whose work has been published in a number of PC and technology related print publications and he is a regular fixture on HotHardware’s own Two and a Half Geeks webcast. - Contact: marco(at)hothardware(dot)com
