VIZIO And LG Settle Patent Disputes, Keep On Keeping On
If you can remember that far back, these disputes started in 2008. For around three years now, both companies have been bickering about who owns what, and who owes what. The settlement encompasses actions that LGE and VIZIO filed in the U.S. including in the International Trade Commission resulting in various orders and determinations, but none of the terms will be released to the public. Both parties will be filing requests to have the disputes thrown out in the appropriate courts, and we're left to assume that both will continue with business as usual now that the case is finally off of their backs.
Who's the real winner here? Hard to say between these two, but at least they'll be spending less in legal fees and hopefully more on R&D to get better products out to the world at large.
