Toshiba Introduces Qosmio X500 Laptop with GeForce GTX 460M Graphics

Once you've put your twenties in your rear-view mirror, you begin to realize that outer beauty only takes things so far, and it's what's on the inside that really matters. Or so that's what ugly people tell us. In any event, Toshiba's revamped Qosmio X500 brings both to the relationship -- a gorgeous frame and upgraded hardware to match.

The big announcement here is that the Qosmio X500 now comes loaded with Nvidia's GeForce GTX 460M graphics, giving gamers some decent hardware for DirectX 11 gaming and movie buffs plenty of horsepower to push Full 1080p video.

"The Qosmio brand is about bringing the extreme performance gamers an HD content creators crave without the extreme price," said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. "With the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M GPU, consumers can now take advantage of a sophisticated graphics engine optimized for the newest and most demanding DirectX 11 games. The Qosmio X500 delivers an enthusiast-class package equipped with everything needed to fully enjoy and create high-definition content."

The other features aren't too shabby either, including a 18.4-inch display, 5.1 channel audio, Intel Core i5 and i7 options, LED backlit keyboard and Blu-ray player options, dual-configurable 7200RPM hard drives and SSD options, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and a boatload of ports.

You'll be able to pick up a redesigned Qosmio X500 starting at $1,300 on September 26, 2010 at Amazon.com and direct from Toshiba.
