Survey: 12% Of U.S. Households Own An E-Reader
According to the survey, which was conducted in April and May by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, that number is 3x the number of households that owned an e-reader just a year ago. Despite economic hardships, e-readers managed to grow significantly in popularity. Again, impressive. Of course, prices on these e-readers have fallen like a rock, and a ton of "no-name" brands have pushed on bargain-bin alternatives of their own.
Speaking of things "like" e-readers, ownership of tablet computers (yes, like the iPad) has doubled in the past year. So, the lesson here? People love mobile gadgets, and clearly, still love to read. Imagine that!
