Super Real Mario GTA IV Mashup Is A Hilarious Romp With Lap Dances, Helicopter-jacking And Must-See Mayhem
But for those of you that simply can’t wait until March to get a glimpse of how Mario would fare in the Big Apple (or should that be Big Banana), YouTuber CrowbCat has created a hilarious gaming mashup using Grand Theft Auto IV’s Liberty City as the backdrop. As you might expect, seeing the rather wholesome Mario traversing Liberty City is a bit unsettling at first, but believe us — you’ll come around to the dark side quickly.
We see Mario running through city streets, as he [unsuccessfully] attempts to dodge cars and escape from profanity-spewing henchman. Mario even tries numerous acrobatic moves, however, his ineptitude at pulling off these stunts makes Mario look like a stumbling drunk at times. Apparently, Mario’s perfect jumps, flips, and power moves don’t translate too well in Liberty City.
The video may be just under two minutes long, but there’s plenty of content to keep you doubled over with laughter including run-ins with the Liberty City police and a trip to a strip club that will probably forever been seared into your brain (for better or worse) if you grew up with the sweet and innocent Mario during the 80s. We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry out for mommy.
It remains to be seen how long this video will stay up, as Nintendo will likely issue a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown at any moment given the crudeness of this parody. So, view it while you can; it’s well worth a few minutes of your time this afternoon.
