Sprint Updates Customers Regarding HTC EVO 4G LTE Delays

There are plenty of Sprint customers who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their hot new HTC EVO 4G LTE smartphone. Unfortunately due to a U.S. Customs review of shipments, customers are left waiting without a firm date as to when they'll get their phones.

Although Sprint and HTC can't do a lot at the moment, HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval of the shipment. Sprint has promised to keep its customers up to date as it has more information. The HTC One X smartphone is also affected by this delay.

Here's the official statement from HTC regarding the shipment delay:

“The US availability of HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed due to a standard U.S. Customs review of shipments that is required after an ITC exclusion order. We believe we are in compliance with the ruling and HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval. HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE have both received enthusiastic support and we appreciate customers’ patience as we work to get these products into their hands as soon as possible.”

Sprint also promises customers who pre-ordered the phone they'll still be among the first to receive the smartphone. For customers who are unwilling to wait and must have a new phone right away, Sprint advises customers who preordered the EVO 4G LTE to refuse delivery or request a return authorization kit once the phone arrives.
