Sprint Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S 4G Users Get Jelly Bean Update
Traditionally, the Nexus family of devices has been among the first to receive updates to the latest and greatest new versions of Android. The Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus S 4G from Sprint are no exception to this.
As of yesterday, Sprint and Google began rolling out an over the air update to Android 4.1.1, otherwise known as Jelly Bean. If your phone hasn’t received the update yet, you can attempt to update the software manually using the System Updates Feature found on the About screen of your phone. According to a posting on Sprint's forums, if your Nexus S hasn't received the prompt to Install Now or Install Later, checking for an update manually may not get you anywhere, however. Sprint intends to offer a "slow" roll out, meaning the update will take a little over a week to reach all Nexus S phones.
With the update, you'll get all of the cool new Jelly Bean features including a smoother user interface, expandable notifications, Android Beam, better voice search, a better camera application, and much more. Keep in mind that Android 4.1 isn't certified for use with Adobe Flash, and Adobe is discontinuing support for the Adobe Flash Player on mobile devices that update to Android 4.1. Adobe recommends uninstalling Flash Player on your phone after the update.
