Sony Launches World’s Fastest SD Cards With Scorching 300MB/s Reads And Writes
Having faster write speeds allows for longer continuous shooting of high resolution images and 4K video recording using cameras that support UHS-II. Speedy write performance also contributes to a shorter buffer clearing time so nothing gets missed during those rapid fire photo shoots.

"Available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities, the SF-G Series offers options that ensure high-performance, high speed and reliable shooting," said Viviano Cantu, Vice President, Product Marketing, Sony Americas Media and Energy Group. "As the continuous shooting of higher-resolution images and adoption of 4K video with DSLR and mirrorless cameras increases, the inherent need for larger, faster and more dependable cards becomes apparent. A longtime leader at the forefront of professional media, Sony has met these growing demands with the debut of the SF-G Series, which offers industry leading performance."
Sony also did users a solid by implementing fast read performance. That doesn't do anything for continuous shooting, but it does help with large volume and file transfers from the memory card to a PC. Being able to transfer files quickly is always appreciated when dealing with hundreds and sometimes thousands of photos.
To that end, Sony is also readying a new high-speed memory card for a spring launch. It's upcoming MRW-S1 supports UHS-II and will play nice with Sony's SF-G series SD cards. Then it will be a matter of choosing speed or capacity.
Sony did not say how much its SF-G series SD cards will cost.
