Some AT&T iPad Models are Starting to Sell Out

Trying to a pre-order Apple's new iPad model yesterday was a recipe for carpal tunnel syndrome. Predictably, potential iPad customers hammered Apple's website yesterday afternoon and on into the evening, which meant repeatedly mashing your mouse button (or F5 key) to refresh timed out webpages throughout the ordering process. It was a pain in the backside for those who attempted to fight the online crowd, and if you decided it would be better to wait a day or two before trying again, you'll have to accept the fact that the model you want might not be available for day-of-release delivery (March 16).

A couple of AT&T Wi-Fi + 4G models are already out of stock, at least for a March 16th delivery. Apple's website shows that 16GB and 64GB white iPads for AT&T will ship three days later then the rest, and if history is any indication, you can expect more models to follow suit and potentially carry even longer delays.

For the time being, it's only the above two that are affected. All black model AT&T iPads are still showing a March 16th delivery date, though we'd be surprised if that doesn't change soon. Bottom line: If you want to ensure prompt delivery of the new iPad, your best bet is to try braving Apple's site and putting in your pre-order (it's running much more smoothly today).

And for those of you who could care less about the new iPad and all of the hype surrounding it, here's a video to show your friends and family why you feel the way you do:
