Samsung Wants to Rule the Notebook Market
Samsung had plenty of new notebook models on display at CES 2012, indicating the company is ready to hit the ground running. Gregory Lee, who serves as Samsung's Executive Vice President, said that the notebook category is becoming an increasingly important sector for the company, according to DigiTimes.
Samsung has so far refrained from calling its new Series 9 notebook an "Ultrabook," even though it's poised to be one of the more enticing Ultrabooks on the market.
It's an interesting focus and goal, considering Samsung is deeply entrenched into the TV and smartphone sectors. Those two businesses have both been performing well in the Asia-Pacific market, with Samsung grabbing hold of a 30 percent share of the smartphone market and around a 40-50 percent of the smart TV market.
