Sad Day for Sennheiser, Founder Passes Away Shortly After 98th Birthday
May Fritz now rest in peace. The professor, who was born on May 9, 1912, passed away on Monday evening, the Sennheiser company announced today. He had just turned 98 years old and is survived by his son, Prof. Dr. sc. techn. Jörg Sennheiser, who took over the company in 1982. The Sennheiser company was founded back in 1945 and now employs about 2,100 people.
"The audio industry has lost a huge figure, not only in terms of his technical expertise but also in terms of his humanity," the Sennheiser company said in a statement.
