Robox 3D Printer Aims For Extreme Simplicity But Choice Features
The Robox doesn’t skimp on features, though; it has an auto-leveling system to ensure that the build platform is always flat, and the extruder system features a dual pinch wheel and closed feedback loop to ensure even distribution of print material.
Because of the dual-extruder system, the Robox can also print two colors or two different materials, and you can swap out different print heads with the HeadLock system. To speed up print jobs, the Robox has dual nozzles--one at .3mm and one .8mm--so that one can handle finer details while the other fills in areas faster.
The device can print with a number of different materials, including PLA, ABS, HIPS (for food-safe products), nylon, PC, PVA, and more.
The team has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise a bit of cash to wrap up the firmware and software development and get the thing into production.
