RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook Will Soon Launch In 16 Additional Markets

RIM plans to make its PlayBook tablet available in 16 countries outside of North America over the next month. The PlayBook launched in the US and Canada in April. As "the world’s first professional-grade tablet" the PlayBook offers a full-featured web browser, multitasking, HD multimedia capabilities, and many security features. However, this tablet has been criticized for its lack of dedicated email and calendar applications. The company plans to offer these applications via an upcoming over-the-air software upgrade.

The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will launch in 16 markets around the world over the next 30 days. The following markets are included in the launch:
