Retail Boxed AMD Raven Ridge Ryzen CPUs With Integrated Vega GPUs Leak
The photos were first posted on a Chinese web forum (Baidu) but were subsequently taken down, perhaps at the request of AMD. There are no secrets on the Internet, however, and the same photos have since been uploaded to Imgur for all to see. The two retail boxes have Chinese markings on them, along with the model names on the back. There is also a picture that shows one of the processors through a cutout in the box.
Even though AMD doesn't use the term accelerated processing unit (APU) anymore, that is really what these are. The Ryzen 3 2200G sports 4 Zen cores with a 3.5GHz base clock and 3.7GHz boost clock. It also features 2MB of L2 cache and 4MB of L3 cache, and has a 65W TDP.
For graphics duties, the Ryzen 3 2200G features 8 Radeon Vega 8 cores running at 1,100MHz. On AMD's website, it lists the release date as being February 12, 2018, so buyers will be able to get their hands on one in less than two weeks from now.
The Ryzen 5 2400G is a meatier processor, one that is also a quad-core chip but with 8 threads. It also sports slightly faster clockspeeds, with a 3.6GHz base clock that is 100MHz faster than the Ryzen 3 2200G, and a 3.9GHz boost clock that is 200MHz faster. And it features the same amount of L2 and L3 cache (2MB and 4MB, respectively), and has the same 65W TDP.
On the graphics side, the there are 11 Radeon Vega cores clocked at 1,250MHz. Like the Radeon 3 2200G, the higher end Radeon 5 2400G is slated to release on February 12. Pricing is not yet known on either processor, though a listing in Singapore has the Ryzen 5 2400G priced at $180.
