Razer Huntsman Elite Gaming Keyboard Introduces Revolutionary Opto-Mechanical Switches
Many of today's gamers tend to prefer keyboards with mechanical switches for their superior feedback and response. With that in mind, Razer has unveiled a new flagship gaming keyboard called the Huntsman Elite that uses an all-new type of switch dubbed Opto-Mechanical.
The switches promise faster performance without giving up that tactile feel that gamers like so much. The switches combine mechanical switches with an infrared light beam inside that can tell when the switch is actuated. The result is a switch with 1.5mm actuation point that is 30% faster than a traditional mechanical switch.
Razer promises that the new Opto-Mechanical Switch has the same actuate and reset points found in a linear switch and gives the same tactile feel found in Razer’s Green switch with a lighter actuation force of 45G. Opto-Mechanical Switches are rated for up to 100 million keystrokes -- twice that of normal mechanical switches. The optical actuation of the key and a metal key stabilizer bar around each switch mean fewer moving parts and no physical contact during actuation.
Other features of the keyboard include dedicated media controls -- each of the keys for media and the multifunction digital dial
