Razer Consoles PC Gamers, Says Their Platform Isn't Dead and Teases Aug. 26 Announcement
Gaming peripheral maker Razer is raging against the notion that PC gaming is dead and that the future lies in consoles and consoles alone. Razer's big reveal on August 26, 2011 promises to set the record straight, and in the meantime, Razer's hype machine is firing off plenty of red blooded rhetoric fiercely defending PC gamers at large.

Razer's going all out on this one. In addition to the YouTube clip and posting the same video on pcgamingisnotdead.com, the peripheral maker took out a full page spread in today's Wall Street Journal with the same message. In it, Razer declares the PC gaming army at over 300 million strong with "this legion growing every day."
"We, the PC Gamers, have been here since the beginning and have seen the industry grow to surpass movies and music, and we look forward to an open world where console and PC gamers will stand side by side as gamers in arms," the ad reads. "We are here today to tell you that on the 26th of August, we will seek to end the silence and bring a new age of openness and innovation to all gaming. Together we shall remind you -- that PC Gaming is NOT dead."
Nobody knows what exactly Razer is getting ready to announce, only that it's supposed to be big. It's possible Razer could launch its Switchblade on August 26th (see video above), which is certainly plausible, though that alone doesn't explain how PC gamers and console gamers will "stand side by side as gamers in arms."
