Patriot's Supersonic Boost XT USB 3.0 Drive is Fast and Rugged

Are you still wielding a USB 2.0-based NAND flash memory drive? If so, maybe it's time to think about stepping up to a SuperSpeed USB 3.0-based thumb drive, especially now that USB 3.0 ports are fast becoming ubiquitous with just about every new motherboard and system being released these days. One of your options is Patriot Memory's new Supersonic Boost XT USB 3.0 drive, a rugged little stick that's fast and should be able to withstand a bit of clumsiness, like dropping it down a flight of stairs.

The Supersonic Boost XT measures just over 6 centimeters long and 2 centimeters wide and comes housed in an ultra-durable rubberized case "for extreme protection," Patriot Memory says.

"The Supersonic Boost XT builds on two very established Patriot Memory brands," says Meng Jay Choo, Patriot Memory’s Product Manager. "Merging the ruggedness of our Xporter line with the speed of our Supersonic line, then shrinking the form factor, positions the Supersonic Boost XT to be the best choice for ultra-demanding users looking for excellent portability."

Being a USB 3.0 device, you can expect to throw around your digital files at up to 90MB/s, provided you have access to a USB 3.0 port. If not, the drive is still backwards compatible with USB 2.0, it just won't operate as fast.

Patriot Memory is making the drive available in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities. No word yet on price or availability.
