Overwatch Summer Games Event Now Live With New Skins For Gamer Beach Bods

summer games 2
We’re well into the summer season, which means that many folks are enjoying fun in the sun and taking trips to the pool (or the beach) to unwind. The developers over at Blizzard are getting in on the action as well with the Summer Games event for its wildly popular Overwatch gaming title, and it is now live.

If you remember the Summer Games event from last year, then you know the drill for the current. There are a number of new skins available for your favorite characters. For example, Soldier 76 commits the ultimate sin by donning cargo shorts and a Hawaiian shirt (which isn’t so bad), but adds in sandals with socks (are you kidding me?). His signature assault rifle also is replaced — rather humorously we might add — with an “A Salt Rifle”.

McCree goes for the surfer dude look with this lifeguard attire, straw hat and Desert Seagull six-shooter, while Sombra takes up snorkeling. For everything that Summer Games has in store, check out this trailer from Blizzard:

In addition to the new Overwatch skins, Olympic-themed Lúcioball mini-game also returns, with three-on-three soccer madness (with a few updates of course). Not only are there events for casual gamers, but there is also a competitive add-on called Copa Lúcioball. Playing 10 matches will get you a special spray, while the top 500 players will unlock another special spray.
