PayPal Introduces New Android Mobile App

PayPal recently launched a new version of its mobile application for the Android platform. The new PayPal for Android app supports Bump technology, which lets users transfer money from one user to another by simply tapping two phones together. Of course, both phones must have a Bump-enabled PayPal application in order to enable this feature.

Like the PayPal for iPhone application, the Android version has a split the check feature that will help you calculate the cost of a bill and split it with friends. The app also has a scheduling component so you won't forget to pay bills or rent. Two additional features include the ability to withdraw money from your account and request a payment.

Since PayPal with Bump is currently available on the iPhone, friends with different mobile platforms can also settle accounts digitally. The free PayPal 2.0 for Android app is currently available in the Android Market.
