New Eee PC Competitor
The massive public interest in the Eee PC has certainly caused other manufacturers to accelerate whatever plans they've had to jump into the market with a comparable product. Now it looks like Konjinsha of Korea is joining the fray with an AMD powered machine of all things:
"Running on Windows XP and AMD Geode LX800 CPU, the E8 adopts 40GB HDD, 512MB memory and touch screen display with 1024 x 600 resolution. Other features included built-in stereo speaker, memory card slot, and USB port. Supporting 3.5 hours of continuous using time, it is expected to be available on February 29th for between 500,000(KRW) and 600,000(KRW).""
Those prices translate to roughly $525 to $630.
