MakerBot Taking Orders For Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer
The Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer (the build volume is 10x10x12.5 inches) is designed to be easy to use with features such as One Touch printing, plug-and-play capabilities, a no-leveling build plate, and included free software.
The printer offers a 200 micron resolution and is optimized for MakerBot PLA filament (available in 17 colors) and connects easily to Thingiverse and the MakerBot Digital Store for plenty of printable 3D designs. It’s also designed to work hand-in-hand with the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner and has an onboard camera, to boot.
“Reflecting on the future of our products, I imagine a lot of them will look like the MakerBot Replicator Mini,” said Bre Pettis, CEO of MakerBot. “We’ve been working hard for years to make 3D printing easy; now, with the MakerBot Replicator Mini, it is easy. We view the MakerBot Replicator Mini as a versatile and tidy 3D printer that can fit almost anywhere – up at the Space Station, at an elite institution, or in a preschool.” (Bonus points if they can get one into an elite preschool at the Space Station.)
The Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer will begin shipping this spring with a price tag of $1,375.
