iPad 2 Event Coming on March 2: Report
The news came on Feb. 22 when Apple (AAPL) stock tumbled, based on the earlier reports of delays, closing at $338.61, down $11.95 or 3.41 percent at market close.
According to BoomTown, the date was firm. Apple hasn't sent out invitations yet, and wouldn't comment, but the company doesn't send out invitations until a week or so before an event, so they will probably be hitting inboxes soon.
The iPad 2 is expected to be thinner, lighter, have the same screen size and resolution, feature a dual-core processor, front- and rear-facing cameras, and possibly a dual-mode Qualcomm chipset to enable the device to run on both GSM and CDMA-based networks, supporting Verizon and other CDMA carriers out of the box.
It should be noted that March 2 is for the announcement of the iPad 2, it's believed, and that the actual launch date will likely be a few weeks later.
