Intel Shows Off New Thunderbolt Controllers at NAB
The chip giant also debuted the prototype silicon for its upcoming Falcon Ridge Thunderbolt controller. Falcon Ridge promises 20Gbps speed, which will make handling 4K video files much easier; Intel says that the controller will allow 4K file transfers and 4K playback simultaneously.
LaCie's Family of Thunderbolt storage solutions
Intel will start production before the end of 2013 and ramp it up next year. You can see Thunderbolt in action devices from LaCie’s line of desktop and portable external drives and from PROMISE Technology’s Pegasus R4/R6 and Pegasus J2 storage solutions.
