Ideum Ups the Ante with a 65-inch Multi-touch Wall Display
If the challenge is to go big or go home, don't wait up for Ideum to pull into its driveway. Ideum specializes in designing and creating interactive computer-based exhibits, multi-touch installations, rich Internet applications, and social networking sites for museum and Web visitors, and their latest creations is the MT65 Presenter, a 65-inch interactive display with multi-touch capabilities.
It also supports 3D, is made with ultra-clear tempered glass, houses an integrated computer, boasts built-in audio, and yes, there's also a webcam included in the hardened aluminum case.
"The Presenter is easy to install and maintain, virtually indestructible, and works in practically any ambient lighting environment," Ideum says. "The integrated touch sensor supports up to 32 simultaneous touch points for multiple user exhibits. The 4-inch thin Presenter is protected by hardened 3mm tempered glass and a vandal-proof metal housing."
The display features a Full HD resolution, flicker-free FPR 3D imaging that using an LED backlight rated for 50,000 hours, and is over 2.5 times larger than the Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface 2, Ideum says. As for the internal hardware, it's rocking an Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, solid state drive, and a discrete GPU. A tissue to wipe up your drool is not included, provided you get past the sticker shock in the first place -- this thing runs $17,500, which also gets you access to the GestureWorks SDK.
