HP Exec Talks webOS Tablet

We’ve heard that a webOS-based tablet was in the works from HP, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Although HP made no announcements at CES last week, Todd Bradley, executive vice president of Hewlett Packard’s Personal Systems Group, made comments during a recent interview that seem to indicate HP is working on a tablet to compete with Apple’s iPad.

During the interview with CNBC, Bradley claimed HP was focused on the tablet market. To back up that claim, he said a public announcement is coming on February 9. In response to questions about how HP’s tablet would compete with Apple’s, Bradley replied, “You and I will talk about that on the ninth.”

Although Bradley didn’t provide many additional details in the interview, he admitted that when HP bought webOS last summer, it had tablet development in mind.
