HIS Rolls Out Radeon HD 6970 IcqQ Eyefinity RTS (Ready-to-See) Graphics Card

At first we thought HIS was somehow trying to target real-time strategy gamers with its new Radeon HD 6970 IceQ Eyefinity RTS graphics card. Turns out RTS in this case stands for "Ready-to-See" with HIS trying to bring multi-monitor gaming via AMD's Eyefinity technology to the masses. What's different about this card is that it supports up to 3-way Eyefinity setups through any of its connectors and not just via DisplayPort. Pretty rad, right?

We think so. The card comes with two mini-DisplayPort connectors, two DVI connectors, and an HDMI port. Normally you'd need multiple displays with DisplayPort connectors to take advantage of AMD's Eyefinity technology, or you could grab yourself some DisplayPort dongles. Neither of those options are necessary with this card, as you can install a pair of monitors via the two DVI ports and hook up a third to the HDMI port.

Otherwise this is a standard HD 6970, albeit equipped with HIS's IceQ cooler. According to HIS, its IceQ cooling solution outpaces reference coolers by up to 23 degrees and runs quieter to boot. The card itself boasts a core clockspeed of 880MHz, 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 5500MHz, and a 256-bit memory bus. It also comes with a Dirt 3 redemption coupon.
