Hercules Intros Two New eCAFE 10.1" Netbooks

It's been quite some time since hearing of Hercules, but the company's back in a major way this week. They're announcing their latest generation of netbooks, with these guys being in the eCAFE series. Hercules is getting ready to ship two new 10.1" eCAFE models, the Slim HD and EX HD.

The former is the slimmest and lightest in the category, while the latter offers world-class battery life. The Slim HD model offers a 10.1" screen and all the essential connectors (3 USB ports, an Ethernet port, headphone and microphone connectors and a card reader), but weighs in at just 1.9 lbs. and measures only .8” thick.

The EX HD model features 13 hours of battery life in real use conditions (according to the company, that is) and makes it simple for users to watch videos on their television thanks to the HDMI port and multimedia touch controls. It's 1.1" thick and weighs 2.4lbs., making it quite a slim fellow for that much battery life.

The company also claims that these are capable of booting up in just 4 seconds, and it comes bundled with Office, an audio player video player and a syncing app that enables files from your existing machine to be transferred over quickly. The eCAFÉ Slim HD and eCAFÉ EX HD will be available starting April 2011, at suggested retail prices of $229  and $269. Not too bad until you realize that these have an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU in them, which definitely won't be ripping through any 1080p material.
