Google FIber Community Pick Delayed
In a blog post, Google said it hopes to inform the winners in "early 2011." The company also announced a new VP to handle Google Fiber: Milo Medin, Vice President, Access Services.
The ultra high-speed (1 gigabit per second) broadband service would be 100 times faster than what most people have access to today. Medin said that nearly 1,100 communities across the country submitted applications for Google Fiber.
One of those, Topeka, KS, went so far as to temporarily rename itself Google, KS.
