Does that Facebook status look familiar? Have photos of you and your ex resurfaced on social media? You are not alone, since a glitch is publishing posts of Facebook pasts.
The Facebook glitch is reportedly sharing outdated posts on users’ timelines without their permission. The re-posted content has had its "timestamp" altered. This makes it seem like the outdated material has been recently posted.
The exact cause is unknown. Some speculate that it is due to the latest iOS update or the recent “Year in Review” feature. A Facebook spokesperson has stated that the company is aware of the issue and is investigating.
This is not the only Facebook glitch to surface over the past month. A few weeks ago, one glitch declared millions of users, including Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, as dead by memorializing their accounts. A tiny flower icon appeared on the top of the Facebook pages, with the message, “Remembering [Insert Name]. We hope people who love [Insert Name] will find comfort in the things others share to remember and celebrate their life.” The accounts were eventually restored.
Facebook has also been plagued by fake news. Facebook’s Trending Stories team was accused this year of suppressing politically conservative news stories. The entire Trending Stories editorial staff was fired and replaced with an algorithm. The algorithm, however, replaced the biased stories fake news stories that repeatedly cropped up in the Trending Stories section. Facebook has since implemented a few strategies to stop the spread of fake news, but they are still fighting an uphill battle.

The results are based on what employees anonymously tell Glassdoor about their employer. Facebook managed to dethrone Airbnb as the best tech company to work for. That has to count for something, right?
