Facebook Campus Vending Machines Dispense Various Tech Products To Employees
Do you work at a huge corporate office? Are there vending machines that occasionally dole out food and drinks for free? That's probably looked fondly upon, but of course, that's no Facebook. Over at the company's Menlo Park, Ca. headquarters, Facebook has perhaps the world's greatest vending machines. These are machines that are stocked with all sorts of technological goodies, from USB cables to headphones and everything in between. It's almost as if there's a Radio Shack crammed into a giant box with buttons.
In most companies, IT items are kept under close watch. If you request a new mouse, it takes two weeks and eight sign-offs to get it. But at Facebook, you just waltz up to the machine, swipe your ID badge, and press a button. Of course, it's likely that managers somewhere are keeping tabs on anyone who may dare abuse the system, but it's a great example of what can happen when you entrust your employees to only take what they need.
Needless to say, it's still as tough as ever to get a job there.
