Blizzard Confirms Diablo 3 Coming To Nintendo Switch Console

After lots of teasing and rumors Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that Diablo 3 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The specific version of the game landing on the Nintendo console will be the Diablo 3: Eternal Collection. That collection includes the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer content add-ons.

Blizzard didn’t give up a specific launch date, only stating that the game will land on Switch later this year. Diablo 3: Eternal Collection will sell for $59.99 and buyers will get some other exclusive items only offered in the Nintendo version of the game. All the extras are based on The Legend of Zelda and include a cosmetic armor set that is Ganondorf-inspired seen in the video below.

Other cool tidbits include a pair of Majora’s Mask-inspired wings, a Triforce character portrait frame, and a Cucco pet (some sort of chicken-like creature from the Zelda franchise). The Switch version will feature the ability for gamers to play alone or in a group with up to four other gamers locally or online. Blizzard has confirmed that up to four players will be able to partake multiplayer modes on a single Switch.

Another bit of good news for gamers used to having to beat portions of a game to unlock the free goodies or certain modes, the Diablo 3: Eternal Collection is unlocked right from the get-go. That means the full campaign, replayable Adventure mode, all seven character classes, and themed seasons. Switch gamers itching for a harder core game should be thrilled at the sound of this.
