Asus Unveils Its Windows 8 Lineup

Asus introduced its Windows 8 product lineup today which includes notebooks, tablets, and all-in-one PCs. The ASUS TAICHI is a slim, stylish notebook that features a dual-screen design with 1080p IPS displays. When used in standard mode, the TAICHI functions as an ultrabook. In tablet mode, the TAICHI gives you multi-touch capabilities that have been optimized for Windows 8. You can also use the TAICHI in dual-screen mode, using both screens simultaneously or independently of one another. The TAICHI will be available in November.

The ASUS Transformer Book combines the best features of a notebook and a tablet with its detachable design. This full-featured notebook offers multiple connectivity options. You can detach the ASUS Transformer Book's high-definition display from the keyboard dock to use it as a thin and powerful multi-touch Windows 8 tablet that is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor.

Asus' ZENBOOK Series of ultrabooks target a number of different users with a range of specifications and screen sizes. The ZENBOOK Series features a choice of 3rd generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. The line includes models with 11.6-, 13.3-, 14-, and 15.6-inch Full HD displays. Also included in the line is the ZENBOOK Touch which adds multi-touch capabilities. The full ZENBOOK family will be available in November.

The ASUS VivoBook X202 and S400 ultraportable laptops feature 3rd generation Intel Core processors and come with 11.6-inch or 14-inch high definition screens. The VivoBooks feature a large multi-touch touchpad as well as SonicMaster audio. Users can opt for traditional storage or hybrid storage options.

The new VivoTab comes with an optional docking station to give users additional battery life and flexibility. The VivoTab features an 11.6-inch Super IPS+ screen and comes with a Wacom stylus for precise input. Touted as the world's lightest Windows 8 tablet, the VivoTab RT features a 10.1-inch Super IPS+ display and runs on Microsoft's new Windows RT operating system. Using the optional keyboard dock, the VivoTab will last for up to 19 hours of computing while the VivoTab RT will last for up to 16 hours with the optional dock. Also included in this series is the VivoTab Smart which features a 10.1-inch display, Windows 8, and an optional TranSleeve keyboard.

Last, but certainly not least, Asus' new All-in-One PC ET2300 features a multi-touch 23-inch high-definition IPS display. This AIO features a double-hinge design which lets you use the machine as a traditional desktop or as a digital canvas that folds flat. Specifications for the ET2300 include Intel Core i7, i5, and i3 processor options as well as NVIDIA GT630M or Intel HD graphics. The ET2300 also features Intel Thunderbolt, Intel Wireless Display (WiDi), HDMI, and USB 3.0 connectivity.
