Apple Reportedly Eying Up March Instead of February for iPad 3 Event

A Japanese blogger had previously reported Apple would hold an iPad 3 event in February, a prediction he made based on a source in the Asian supply chain and another in the U.S. Now he's saying the event will probably take place in March, a time frame that jibes with other reports around the Web. Let's have a look at some of them.

For starters, Boy Genius Report got its hands on debug information from a source who claims to be in possession of an iPad 3 prototype. If the information is real, it appears the iPad 3 will sport a quad-core A6 processor, which would make it the fastest iOS device to date. It will also have Wi-Fi (a no-brainer) and 4G LTE options.

If we direct our browser over to GameZone, there's a report of Amazon adding two iPad 3 books to its European site. One is called "Ipad 3 pour les nuls," or iPad 3 for Dummies, and the other is "Auf die Schnelle iPad 3," loosely translated to Hurry or iPad 3 on the Fly. The former is due for release on March 29, 2012.

While none of these is enough to bet the farm on, they all point to an iPad 3 event in March, which is about the time we would expect Apple to roll out a new tablet based on the iPad 1 and 2 launches.
