Apple Hires Ex-CEO of Yves Saint Laurent for ‘VP of Special Projects’ Position

Well now, color us intrigued (that is a color, right?). Paul Deneve, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, is joining Apple to work on...well, we're not sure what. Officially, Deneve will lend his expertise to "special projects" and serve as a vice president in his role reporting directly to Tim Cook.

Unofficially, we don't have much of a clue what Deneve will be in charge of at Apple. One possible scenario is he could work on luxury items, such as Apple's rumored iWatch device, higher end iPhone designs, or even an Apple brand HDTV. Given his background in fashion, overseeing the iWatch launch probably makes the most sense, especially since Apple will be tasked with convincing users not only that watches are vogue, but so are smart watches.

Deneve isn't completely new to Apple. According to information floating around the Internet, Deneve held several sales and marketing positions at Apple in Europe from 1990 until 1997.
