Apple Confirms September 9 Event, iPhone 6 And iWatch Are Likely Unveilings
We reported on a rumor at the start of the month about a September 9th event Apple would be holding, and while it took a while to happen, the company has finally confirmed it. On the invite's header graphic, the company teases, "Wish we could say more." Based on that wordage, some are speculating that something Siri-related could be unveiled at the event, although that might be reading too much into things.
Apple is no doubt excited to unveil whatever it has in store - after all, it's been dealing with rumor after rumor these past couple of months. A couple of weeks ago, I tackled a number of those relating to the iPhone 6. It seems certain at this point that 4.7 and 5.5-inch models will be unveiled at the event, but speculation that's really heating up at the moment is that Apple could also use the event to reveal the long-awaited iWatch.
Personally, I really hope that the iWatch is in fact announced at the event. I can't remember the last rumor I've been monitoring that's taken quite so long to play out - it really does feel like years that we've been monitoring it. In addition to that, it'll be interesting to see if the reversible Lightning connector we talked about last week also makes an appearance, and perhaps some Lightning-specific accessories, as well.
What are you looking forward to seeing, or at least hoping to see, unveiled at the upcoming event?
