Another Android Exec Leaves Google This Time for Yahoo!
Google just lost another one of its Android rock stars, while Yahoo gains a beloved figure in the open source space. We're talking about Jean-Baptiste Quéru, former Technical Lead of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), who's relationship with Google soured beyond the point of reconciliation last month when he announced he was stepping down out of frustration.
"There's no point being the maintainer of an operating system that can't boot to the home screen on its flagship device for lack of GPU support, especially when I'm getting the blame for something that I don't have authority to fix myself and that I had anticipated and escalated more than 6 months ahead," Quéru stated in a Google+ post.

Google's loss is apparently Yahoo's gain. Quéru announced in a Twitter post that he's accepted a new job at Yahoo, adding, "Great company, great people, great vision, I'm very excited."
Score another win for Yahoo chief Marissa Mayer, who has done nothing but good things for the company since taking over as CEO two years ago. She's proven adept at poaching top-level talent from other firms, especially Google, her old employer. As for Quéru, he'll serve as Architect and Senior Principal Engineer for Yahoo's collection of mobile apps.
