AMD Plays Major Role in 2H?

DigiTimes reports that MSI is claiming AMD will play a major role in the company's 2H motherboard sales. With the vast majority of the industry focusing on Intel's new Conroe desktop processor due to some exceptional performance gains, it is somewhat surprising to hear MSI giving AMD so much attention. Then again, the widely publicized price cuts AMD plans for the launch of Conroe could very well drive a great deal of traffic towards AMD's side.

Wu stressed that the adjusted CPU lineup prices of Intel Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron CPU lineup do not differ much with AMD's lineup. In addition, she highlighted that the performance and price (P/P) ratio of AMD's AM2 socket CPU is more competitive than Intel's Pentium D following the announced price reduction of AM2 CPUs.
