3D Systems And Hershey Cook Up Delicious Partnership For 3D-Printed Edibles
At CES, 3D Systems unveiled its ChefJet and full-color ChefJet Pro 3D printers that can print confections, and now the company is in cahoots with Hershey to create branded edibles. With a multiyear agreement in place, the two will develop 3D-printed chocolate (and non-chocolate) products and work to commercialize a “new class of consumer and prosumer 3D printers for edibles”.
“We believe that innovation is key to delivering relevant, compelling consumer experiences with our iconic brands,” said William Papa, Vice President and Chief Research and Development Officer, The Hershey Company. “Whether it’s creating a whole new form of candy or developing a new way to produce it, we embrace new technologies such as 3D printing as a way to keep moving our timeless confectionery treats into the future.”
3D Systems will provide the tech and Hershey will leverage its extensive food science background; we eagerly await the delicious fruits of this labor.
