We were first graced with the Porsche Mission E's beauty back in fall of 2015, and later in that same year, it was confirmed that the electric sedan had been given the green light for production. Now, we're beginning to learn a little more about the car, including how it will be priced. In a recent interview with CAR Magazine, Porsche chief Oliver Blume revealed that the production Mission E will be priced like an entry-level Panamera. For those of you don't keep up with luxury sports sedans, the base Panamera (rear-wheel drive) starts at $85,000, while the Panamera 4 (all-wheel drive) starts at... Read more...
Porsche is no stranger to rip-roarious supercars; just look at the German marque’s 918 Spyder, which pumps out a combined 887 horsepower and a staggering 944 lb-ft of torque courtesy of its hybrid powertrain. On a slightly more “sane” level, there’s the 997 911 GT2 RS, which launched in 2011 with 612 horsepower and a top speed of 205 mph. Porsche is hardly a company that stands still technologically (even if its vehicle design evolution moves at a glacial pace), which is why the company is officially spilling all the beans on its all-new 997-generation 911 GT2 RS. Porsche gave us a sneak peek at... Read more...
When it comes to timeless designs, it doesn’t get much better than the Porsche 911. Over 50 years after its initial launch, the 911 is still recognizable today in its modern 991-based iteration. Given the German company’s knack for design, AOC enlisted the help of Studio F. A. Porsche to help create its newest line of desktop displays, and they are quite striking in appearance. The Porsche Design Series (PDS) is available in 24-inch (PDS241) and 27-inch (PDS271) sizes, both of which include ultra slim display bezels on the left, right, and top. They also feature a rather unique-looking asymmetrical... Read more...
Tesla Motors has blazed a trail for the future of electric vehicles with its Model S sedan, and is looking to follow-up its past successes with the Model X crossover and the upcoming $35,000 Model III. Established automakers are also looking to cash in on the EV market, and one of the biggest names in sports cars is looking to go toe-to-toe with Tesla. Porsche announced its beautiful Mission E in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show, and said at the time that it was hopeful that the vehicle would be approved for production. As if there was ever any doubt that the Mission E would be approved, Porsche... Read more...
Don’t get us wrong, Tesla Motors has been on an absolute tear with regards to its gorgeous Model S electric sedan. The vehicle has won awards left and right and has even broken Consumer Reports’ review scale. In its most potent form, the Model S P85D put down 691hp and 687 ft-lbs of torque, which is good enough to rocket it from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds in Ludicrous Mode. But the competition isn’t sitting still either — and increased competition results in even more compelling vehicles for us all. Look no further than Porsche’s entry into the electric vehicle arena: the Mission E Concept.... Read more...
We know that McLaren knows how to make supercar as witnessed by the 650S. And the company is no stranger to the hypercar arena either thanks to the P1 (and the legendary F1). The P1 employs a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine and a hybrid powertrain to pump out an astonishing 903 hp, which is good enough to rocket the vehicle to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and top out at 217 mph. If the 650S is too rich for your blood, then don’t even bother asking about the P1. But if you want a slightly less frantic sports car that is priced below $200,000, McLaren has introduced its new Sport Series to take... Read more...
LaCie and Porsche, together at last? We can't say we ever really expected these two names to join forces in any significant way, but they have, and the result is nothing short of stunning. Both of these companies are well known for amazing design, and now that they're working together, it's just easy to love what's coming out of their collaborative efforts. The two just launched an exclusive P´9000 electronics category: the LaCie Porsche Design Mobile (P'9220) and Desktop (P'9230) Hard Drives. Both of these rely on USB 3.0 and feature aluminum frames and 'purist designs.' In fact, the two... Read more...
