Don’t worry, we are not talking about a $199 body wash here. In July, Acer will release the Liquid Zest Plus, its latest and greatest LTE smartphone. The Liquid Zest Plus will come equipped with Android 6.0, a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, a 5,000mAh battery, a MediaTek MT6735 quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. The USB OTG (On-The-Go) will let users charge other devices with the phone. The phone has a rear-facing 13MP camera with LED Flash, Laser autofocus, PDAF that Acer says uses a "tri-focus" system in order to capture images more quickly. It also has a 5-megapixel... Read more...
Earlier this morning, we brought you news of fresh Switch 2-in-1 convertibles and business-class TravelMate notebooks from Acer. Not to be left out, the company has also revealed a pretty swanky 32-inch monitor that many people would love to have sitting on their desk at home (or at the office). The Acer BM320 measures 32-inch diagonally and comes with a 4K UHD screen resolution (3840x2160). Acer says that display offers “professional-grade” color accuracy, with the ability to display 100 percent of the Adobe RGB color gamut. If that wasn’t tough, the BM320 covers 100 percent of the Rec. 709 and... Read more...
It’s getting harder for Microsoft to ignore the growing market for low-cost Chromebook computers. Microsoft is looking to beat back the rebel insurgency by partnering with OEMs to crank out economical Windows 10 notebooks and convertibles — even if those OEMs have already given in to the “dark side”, like Acer. To that end, Acer has announced two new 2-in-1 laptops that pack plenty of features, yet won’t break the bank when you’re ready to pull the trigger on a purchase. And as you might expect, both machines are running Windows 10. The Switch One 10 and Switch V 10 both features 10.1-inch IPS... Read more...
Acer held a global press conference yesterday at 4 World Trade Center in New York City, to reveal a wide array of new products. Acer showed off everything from a fitness-related wearables, to a bicycle-mounted computer, new smartphones, ultra-portables, and gaming PCs. We posted up some press-shots and technical details of the new Acer Switch Alpha 12, and new Predator G1 small form factor system and Predator 17x gaming notebook, as Acer was making the announcements yesterday. However, we were also present at the event to get some hands-on time with Acer’s new products. The Acer Switch Alpha 12... Read more...
Acer is hoping to make a splash in the ultraportable market with its brand new Switch Alpha 12 2-in-1 notebook. Unlike some other thin and light machine that make use of Skylake-based Core m3, m5 and m7 processors, the Switch Alpha 12 goes for the throat with Core i3, i5, and i5 processors featuring more performance at the expense of greater heat output. However, Acer has an answer for the heat production in the form of its LiquidLoop cooling system. Ultrabooks and tablets running Core M/m processors have traditionally been able to do so while remaining fanless. The Switch Alpha 12, with its more... Read more...
Acer is expanding its Predator gaming lineup once again, and the latest members to this rowdy group include a new notebook, desktop and a family of curved display monitors. According to Acer, these new Predator products are all “virtual reality-ready” out of the box. First up is the Predator 17X notebook, which as its name implies comes with a 17.3-inch display -- G-SYNC-enabled of course. Unlike many 17.3-inch panels that come with a 1080p screen resolution, the Predator 17X is packing a 4K display (3840×2160). Powering the machine is an Intel Core i7-6820HK Skylake processor and an NVIDIA GeForce... Read more...
Is there anything Chrome can't do? In addition to helping us browse the Internet with our desktops and mobile devices along with streaming content to our televisions, Google has added "meetings" to Chrome's growing repertoire. This venture is called Chromebase, and is in a way a "poor-man's Surface Hub" functionality. The first company out with a product is Acer, with the $800 CA24V. Similar to the aforementioned Surface Hub, Chromebase is designed to give meeting-goers a better, more intuitive collaborative experience. Part of the charm here is the fact that the display is a touch screen, and... Read more...
The ultra-limited 14-inch Chromebook category grew by a single model today with the introduction of Acer's CB3-431, one of just two 14-inch Chromebook models on the planet (HP owns the other) and the only one to boast up to an impressive 14 hours of battery life for all day and night productivity and fun. That battery life claim applies to the HD version, which sports a 1366x768 display resolution. Acer also offers a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) version, and while Acer doesn't suggest you can squeeze 14 hours of run time out of the thing, it's rated up to a still impressive 12 hours, plenty to get... Acer's blitzing the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas with several new products, and included among them are a bunch of additions to its monitor lineup. Featuring high quality in-plane switching (IPS) panels, each of the new monitors bring something unique to the table, starting with the incredibly thin profile of the R1 Series. Every monitor maker out there is building increasingly thin displays, but the R1 Series by Acer happens to be the world's slimmest with an enclosure that measures a scant 7mm. The monitors in the R1 Series also boast a ZeroFrame design to make the most of their... Read more...
Acer has been on a roll recently with a string with high-profile gaming monitors, one of which is the Predator X34 that Dave just reviewed for HotHardware. Today, the company has announced yet another curved display, the Predator Z35, which measures 35 inches across. The Predator Z35 has a lot going for it including a 21:9 WFHD (2560x1080) display with a curvature of 2000R. But that’s not all; Acer also managed to pack in NVIDIA G-SYNC technology along with NVIDIA’s ULMB technology that helps to reduce motion blur. Acer continues to pack on the features with the ability to display 16.7 million... Read more...
If you're a PC gamer or into enthusiast computing, how would you describe your ideal monitor? For many, it might go something like a 32 - 34-inch IPS panel with a high refresh rate of 100Hz plus, 4K resolution, along with NVIDIA G-SYNC or AMD FreeSync technology. And with displays this big, adding a slight curve might be high on your wish list as well. The good news is, with the recent advancements in display technologies, that "holy grail" set of specifications is beginning to take shape, as display manufacturers like Acer, ASUS, Samsung, Dell and others begin to build all this great new tech... One of the first times we laid eyes on a curved monitor in the flesh was back at CES 2015 where Dell was showing off this 34-inch bad boy to the masses. Since then curved monitors have been cropping up all over the place, and even a few curved all-in-ones have made a showing here in Q4. Acer recently stepped up with its Predator line of displays including the 34-inch curvaceous Predator X34 that we immediately sat-up and took note of. The Predator X34 is not only a 34-inch curved panel targeted at gamers with refresh rate overclocking up to 100Hz, but it also comes with two flavors of Adaptive... Read more...
I know it may sound hard to believe, but not everyone out there is a gamer. While there are plenty of us hardcore gamers that love products like the Acer Predator X34 with its 100Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-SYNC support, there are those that appreciate its size and resolution, but don’t need the high performance bolt-ons. With that in mind, Acer has announced two new ultra-wide 34-inch monitors which it is aiming at photographers, videographers and website professionals. The Acer B346CK and B346C differ primarily in screen resolution, with the former featuring a QHD resolution (3440x1440, 60Hz)... Read more...

Acer is back at it with two more gaming monitors, both of which feature 27-inch displays and are members of the Predator XB1 Series. First up is the Predator XB271HU, which includes a zero-frame, edge-to-edge design and a WQHD (2560x1440) IPS panel. Other features include 100 percent coverage of the sRGB color gamut, 4ms gray response times, and the ability to overclock the refresh rate up to 165Hz.Predator XB271HU The Predator... Read more...
