Best Buy Opening Early for HTC Evo 3D Launch

The long awaited launch of HTC's Evo 3D smartphone on Sprint is less than 24 hours away, and if you don't happen to have anything better to do on a Friday morning (like commute to work), Best Buy will let you through its doors a little early to be one of the first to pick up what could end up being the hottest Android device this summer.

Best Buy stores, along with select Best Buy Mobile specialty locations, will open at 8AM local time tomorrow morning.

"There has been a lot of excitement and interest in the HTC Evo 3D in our stores and we are happy to help bring it to market by opening our stores early on Friday," said Scott Anderson, head of merchandising for Best Buy Mobile. "This is a big launch for us and our teams are prepared and focused to help customers get their new phones set up and personalized before they leave the store."

The HTC Evo 3D is the world's first 3D phone with a 4.3-inch qHD display. Other features include a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4GB of internal memory, 8GB microSD card (expandable to 32GB), 1GB of RAM, dual 5MP rear cameras, 1.3MP front facing camera, 1080p 2D recording, 720p 3D recording, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Best Buy will carry the Evo 3D for $200 with a new two-year service agreement.
