lol, in theory shouldn't this just make Sony more angry and do more ***??? :D If it was me i would be :) |
Atta Boy Annonymous! way to not just talk the talk but walk the walk too :) |
It's probably gonna turn out to be a pointless gesture unless they can do crippling damage to Sony's online presence for a long time, without getting caught themselves. While they recently ripped apart a DC based security firm, most of it was due to bad security practices by their two top administrators and the fact that they didn't apply updates properly and on time. It may not be as smooth a sailing whilst reaming Sony. |
I think sony is hiding their frustration- i don't think they're "scared" but they're definitely preparing themselves for what could come next. anonymous is becoming quite an icon.. |
Not normally a fan of this type of protest, but the once great Sony needs to get its collective head out of its ass. |
"Sony Yawns" "sony, meanwhile, has taken the group's threats seriously enough to retain Prolexic" This doesn't make sense... |
Sony Music is killing the industry. Sony PlayStation ruining part of the original design of the PS3. Sony who admittedly designed electronics to fail shortly after the warranty periods were up years ago. I hate Sony with a burning passion they are a terrible company. Of course there are many other successful companies in this world who could care less about their customers as well. |
You're hating Sony for a philosophy GM implemented 50 years ago to affect cars--which consumed a much higher percentage of a family's net income than electronic devices do. Also, Sony may have retained Prolexic, but what of it? It's the mindset of lockdown that's a problem, not any actual DDoS attack. Furthermore, the IT security company is never going to imply that they aren't necessary. If Anonymous was two guys, a chimp, and a really smart squid, it'd still be in the company's best interest to push it as a major problem. |
The fact that they're keeping Prolexic means that a part of them takes the threat seriously, but not as seriously as taking down Geohot via lawsuit. I mean they've got tons of resources at hand that it makes Anonymous look meager by comparison. Even if they do take down the site, it would do nothing to affect Sony's opinion, nothing. They're a billion dollar corporation. Unless you have a problem with one of their products or are a recent customer, what do they care about what you have to say?
No, the big 4 (not just Sony) are killing the industry. Though Warner Music Group seems to be the one accelerating the death of legal online music sharing. |
You are correct Taylor I should have been clearer and wrote Sony Music is one of the companies killing the music industry. I am sure Sony had Prolexic on retainer before Anonymous attacked them. |

They will probably stop when Sony hires George Hotz |
