The only people who concern themselves with non-removable batteries are those who are afraid to get their hands dirty and/or anyone who gets squeamish when thinking about prying open pricey electronics gear. Luckily for them, and for the rest of use who appreciate a good old fashioned teardown, the folks at iFixIt are never afraid to crack open the latest gadgets with pictures detailing every step of the way. We've heard about the Motorola Droid 4 for a while now, but only recently did we get an official release date for this phone. This new smartphone will be available this Friday, February 10. As you may recall, the Motorola Droid 4 claims to be the thinnest and most powerful 4G smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard. The Droid 4 measures less than a half inch thick and features a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, a 4.0-inch qHD display, 8-megapixel camera, and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. Motorola intends to upgrade the phone to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at some point in the future. The phone will launch... Read more...
A new MAP (minimum advertised price) list from Verizon has been tipped online and it reveals a number of discounted Droid devices, including the upcoming Droid 4. Motorola's darling, which was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month, was originally announced at $249 with a two-year service agreement, but it now looks like you'll be able to snag one from Big Red for $200 (also on contract). The Droid 4 boasts a 4-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8MP camera with 1080p video capture, 4G LTE, slide-out QWERTY keyboard,... Read more...
Well, well, well, it looks as though a Verizon employee "dropped" a carrier document containing the company's latest MAP (minimum advertised price) list for several make and model smartphones, including Motorola's upcoming Droid 4. Lucky for you, the MAP list was picked up and posted online -- strange how that always seems to happen. In any event, the Droid 4 is listed at $249, which is the price after a two-year service agreement. The $249 price tag will be valid up until July 10, 2012, though curiously missing is any mention of a release date, something Big Red is apparently still deciding on.... Read more...
Although the Droid 4 hasn't been officially released yet, that hasn't stopped Best Buy from using this upcoming phone in a promotional advertisement. A recent Reward Zone promotion shows the upcoming phone, which makes us wonder if the retailer thought the phone was going to launch this month. (Old rumors once suggested this phone would launch in December, but that hasn’t happened.) The Droid 4 looks similar to the Droid RAZR with its shaved corners, but this phone also features a slide-out keyboard with backlit keys. No official release date has been announced, though the latest rumors suggest... Read more...
We've already heard about the upcoming Droid 4 smartphone, though we're still waiting on an official announcement from Motorola or Verizon Wireless. We have also heard rumblings around the web about various Xoom tablet successors. Here again, we're still waiting on an official announcement. The lack of any announcements hasn't stopped Verizon Wireless from showing off some of its upcoming goods, however. Recently, Verizon Wireless showed the Motorola Droid 4 and two Xoom tablet successors to CNET. The rumored specs and details seem to line up nicely with what was revealed to CNET. As expected,... Yesterday, we told you about the HOT new upcoming DROID smartphone, the Droid 4. Now, new details are surfacing that suggest this new phone (which hasn't even been formally announced) could be available as early as next week. According to Droid-Life, the DROID 4 could make its debut on December 8. Another HOT new smartphone, the Galaxy Nexus, is also said to be launching on the 8th. Coincidentally, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is also pegged for a release on the same day. As you may recall, the DROID 4 has similar specifications as the recently released Droid RAZR. Key differences include... Read more...
Motorola’s Droid family of smartphones continues to grow, and the latest addition is (going to be) the Droid 4. Droid Life got ahold of a couple of screen grabs that indicate the new smartphone’s specs. Those specs include a 4-inch touch screen display (960x540), dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and 16GB of onboard storage (which is expandable up to 48GB with up to 32GB of microSD storage). The Droid 4 will also apparently sport WiFi (802.11b/g/n), GPS, and two cameras--a front-facing webcam and a rear 8MP camera with LED flash. As far as ports go, the phone has a 3.5mm... Read more...
