Given that the iPhone has seen an annual refresh each year since its unveiling in 2007, it's a pretty safe bet that some flavor of iPhone will see the light of day in 2014. The big question, however, is whether or not we'll see an even bigger iPhone. With the Galaxy Note series selling tens of millions of units worldwide, it's clear that there's a very real demand for larger-screen phones. Apple's iPhone remains one of the smallest you can buy, but fresh reports suggest that this year may change all of that. Reportedly, Apple will release two new iPhones in 2014. One will have a modest 4.5" display... Read more...
It's a rumor that has been going around for some time now, but it's gaining steam. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple is testing larger-screened iPhones, which would add a meaningful fragmentation to the iOS universe. Apple stuck with the 3.5-inch screen size for as long as it could, and eventually upped things to 4-inches with the iPhone 5; but that increase only happened on the vertical side. Now, Apple is seemingly testing new iPhone form factors between 4.8-inches and 6-inches, the latter of which would pit it directly against the Galaxy Note line. At some point, one would think... We steer clear of most Apple rumors, but this one caught our eye, thanks to the pictures and video of some unusually-designed earbuds. According to Tinhte.vn, a Vietnamese site, the iPhone 5 may be getting new earbuds that have ports in the fronts and sides. Of course, most rumors are nothing more than that, and there are a couple strikes against these particular earbuds being genuine iPhone 5 accessories – not the least of which is the absence of an in-line remote, as PC Magazine’s David Murphy points out. But if you’re starving for news on the next iPhone, forget the... Read more...

Although Samsung has already made it known that the company won't be announcing the highly-anticipated Galaxy S III smartphone at Mobile World Congress this year, that hasn't stopped specs of this hot phone from leaking onto the web.   One of the reasons Samsung isn't planning to announce the Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress is because it wants to shorten the gap between announcing the phone and actually launching it around the world. When the time comes, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S III in over 50 markets or cities simultaneously. Some of the reported specs for the Samsung Galaxy... Read more...
There's a rumor going around that Intel's initial Ivy Bridge launch will end up stunted by small volume shipments in early April, with mass shipments being delayed until sometime after June. News of the delay was reported by DigiTimes last week after it claimed to have heard from sources in the notebook industry that Intel made the decision to slow things down due to a high number of Sandy Bridge processors still in need of a good home. In order to minimize the impact on first-tier notebook vendors stuck with a large volume of Sandy Bridge chips, as well as Intel's own stockpile, the Santa Clara... Read more...
According to a leaked product lineup, it would appear that RIM is slimming down its product line up in order to focus resources on its next-generation BlackBerry devices that are expected in the second half of this year. The new Curve smartphones will likely be the BlackBerry Curve 9230 and the BlackBerry Curve 9320. You shouldn't take the latest iPad rumors with a grain of salt, you should take them with seven seas full of salt, and then some. The idea that Apple will release an iPad 3 and a supercharged iPad 4 both in the same year is beyond ludicrous -- either that, or this editor will eat a giant sized crow in nine months -- yet that's what news and rumor site DigiTimes is reporting. What's more likely is that the folks in Taiwan figured it's both fun and easy to mess with DigiTimes, and we can hardly blame them. According to DigiTimes, "industry sources" overseas indicate Apple will ship an iPad 3 with... Read more...
Could there be a better way to kick start the weekend than with a next generation gaming console rumor? Well sure, you could hit the jackpot and tell your boss you won't be in on Monday, but that's not something we can help you with. We can, however, share the latest chatter about the so-called "Xbox Next," Microsoft's successor to the Xbox 360. Develop claims to have heard from "multiple sources across the industry, from processor chip manufacturers to middleware firms," that Microsoft's next game console will make its first appearance at the E3 convention in 2013. It then appears likely that... Read more...
All the attention is on Microsoft right now as the tech world tunes in to see what Windows 8 and its funky Metro UI is all about. Maybe that's not sitting right with Apple, who'd prefer to hog the limelight for itself. If that's the case, it would make perfect sense to refresh its MacBook Pro line this month, as is rumored to be the case. Citing "people with proven insight into Apple's future product plans," AppleInsider reports Apple is hot-to-trot with refreshed MacBook Pro models later this month rather than waiting for Intel's next generation Core i mobile processors to appear in the second...
