It may look pretty much unchanged on the outside, but there are plenty of changes under the hood with the 4.47-pound, 14-inch Razer Blade gaming notebook. For starters, the amount of standard RAM has been doubled from 8GB to 16GB. In addition, the 2.6GHz Intel Core i7 4720HQ (3.6GHz with Turbo Boost) is a noticeable step up from the 2.2GHz Core i7 4702HQ that was in last year’s model. Unfortunately, fifth generation Intel Core processors aren’t in the cards this time around.  When it comes to graphics, Razer ditched the “old and tired” GeForce GTX 870M for the “new hotness”: a Maxwell-based... A last minute storage upgrade prompted Razer to delay the release until Janaury 2012. Razer made the announcement on its Facebook page and split it into good and bad news portions. The good news? Razer decided to yank the 320GB mechanical hard drive and plop a 256GB solid state drive in its place, and do so without raising the price. We already knew... Read more...
The Razer Blade gaming notebook by Razer is one sexy looking laptop that didn't make it into our Holiday Gift Guide this year, but that's partially because we had no idea when it would be available. Until now, that is. According to reports, it's going to ship in time for Christmas, and if you're confident it will live up to the hype, you can add it to your wish list before handing it over to your significant other. Apple isn't the only one capable of creating an epic buzz for a product launch. Gaming peripheral maker Razer on Monday put the world -- and especially the console community -- on notice that PC gaming is far from dead, and those who claim otherwise can stick their obituaries where the sun doesn't shine. The language wasn't quite as confrontational as that, but pretty close, and the outfit even took out a full spread in The Wall Street Journal giving gamers a heads up that on August 26th, "we shall remind you -- that PC Gaming is NOT dead." So what was the big reveal. As many suspected it would... Read more...
