Another day, another story about AT&T's network. It seems that the iPhone's network is almost as big a story as the iPhone itself, simply because in America you can't have one without the other, at least not without a jailbreak, a T-Mobile SIM card and a willingness to live without 3G. There have always been rumors that AT&T fears the eventual loss of the iPhone's exclusivity, and it's beginning to look more and more like Verizon Wireless will be picking up the Apple smartphone soon and providing lots of users with a good reason to switch. And now, the iPad is coming too. In around a month,... Read more...

When DirectX 10 was first introduced to the market by graphics manufacturers and subsequently supported by Windows Vista, it was generally  understood that adoption by game developers was going to be more of a slow  migration than a quick flip of a switch. Image quality isn't as big a selling point as performance when it comes to graphics cards, though it's still a highly important issue. After all, what's the point of throwing down the cash for a top performing card if the image quality isn't up to par with the competition? FiringSquad does another image quality comparison between ATI and NVIDIA, also making sure to focus on the problem known as "Texture Shimmering". "What is texture shimmering you ask? As a quick refresher, texture shimmering can occur when the mipmap transitions from one texture resolution to the next.... Read more...
